The purpose of the presentation were, to present the financial results for the first quarter of 2020, to predict the overall performance of Pranda Group, to analyze the impact on business operations and to recover the business from Covid-19. Resulting in incomes in 2020 to minus 20-25% compared to the previous year. The company has predicted the economic impact on its business for 2 periods including: crisis period and recovery period. Due to the crisis, the Production base has reduced purchase orders and production orders. Customers postponed the delivery schedule. Distribution base: Pranda Group’s operation in the United States and the United Kingdom got most of the revenue during the Covid-19 crisis from online channels. In India, they were affected by the full lockdown measures. Retail base: Vietnam has been affected by the social distancing measure since January. In Thailand, many branches in department stores have been closed due to lockdown measures from March 22. During this crisis, the company adjusted its strategy by keeping as much cash as possible, controlling costs and using flexible work plans such as alternate work day or work from home policy and focusing on increasing sales on online channels as well.

However, the company believes that the performance of the second half of 2020 will be better than the first half after the post-lockdown. The company focuses on managing cash flow from operations. Production base will focus on the production as usual with an expectation that the main customers will give us their orders again. Distribution base: most distribution channels are on online channels, then they are less affected. Besides, most of sales in Indian market are from the second half of the year. Retail base: consumer confidence declines, they avoid going to the department store. The company therefore has to adjust new service channels such as social commerce and online market place in order to serve consumers under the ‘New normal’. They also encourage potential customers with a sales promotion to boost sales. This VDO Conference meeting was held at Pranda Jewelry Public Company Limited.
